The Elimination Chamber returns
January 8, 2006

On January 8, 2006, six men will enter the Elimination Chamber at New Years Revolution with one goal in mind: walk out as WWE Champion. For the second year in a row, New Years Revolution will feature the Elimination Chamber, with five challengers attempting to outlast John Cena in a quest for the WWE Championship.

In his last act as RAW General Manager, Eric Bischoff decided that the WWE Championship would be up for grabs inside the Elimination Chamber. And on the Dec. 12 edition of RAW, interim GM Mr. McMahon announced five qualifying matches to see who would join John Cena inside the Chamber on Jan. 8.

That night, Kurt Angle, Carlito, Chris Masters, Shawn Michaels and Kane all won their qualifying matches to become Cenas five challengers on Jan. 8. Only Kane and Michaels have competed inside the Elimination Chamber before; will that prior experience propel them to victory, or will one of the other newcomers dethrone Cena? Or, can The Champ overcome all the odds once again to walk out of New Years Revolution with his gold?

Also at New Years Revolution, Mickie James gets the chance of a lifetime when she faces her idol, Trish Stratus, for the WWE Womens Championship. Since debuting on RAW in the fall, Mickie has proven to be Trishs biggest fan, cheering her idol to victory and helping the Womens Champion whenever she needed it. On the Dec. 12 edition of RAW, Mickie defeated Victoria to become the No. 1 Contender, and now must defeat the one woman she idolizes to win the big one.

In recent weeks, Trish has seemed less and less interested in Mickies friendship. On a WWE.com Unlimited segment before Mickie became No. 1 Contender, Trish seemed ready to tell her that they werent as close as Mickie thought. However, Trish felt bad after Mickie told a story about her late grandfather, and watched with the RAW announce team as Mickie won the right to be her next challenger. Can Mickie dethrone her idol and claim the gold, or will the fans get another dose of Stratusfaction on Jan. 8?

Dont miss New Years Revolution, live Sunday, January 8 from the Pepsi Arena in Albany, NY. Stay tuned to WWE.com as more is announced for the first RAW pay-per-view spectacular of 2006.

Hell comes to Providence
December 18, 2005
On Dec. 18 at Armageddon, the war between Randy Orton and Undertaker will come two a head when the two adversaries settle their differences inside Hell in a Cell.

Since the Deadman defeated Orton at WrestleMania 21, the Legend Killer has been on a quest to add Undertakers name to his lengthy list of victims. Orton defeated Undertaker at SummerSlam to even the score, but prematurely claimed to have retired the Deadman. When Undertaker returned a few weeks later, he challenged Orton to a Casket Match at No Mercy to settle the score.

When No Mercy rolled around, Orton and father Cowboy Bob defeated the Deadman in a Handicap Casket Match, but the result wasnt enough for them. After securely locking Undertaker in the casket, the Ortons wheeled the coffin into the entranceway and set it on fire, seeming to burn the Deadman alive. However, when the casket was later opened, Undertaker was nowhere to be found.

After weeks of mystery, Undertaker returned at Survivor Series, emerging from a flaming casket to come for the Legend Killer. Orton escaped, but two days later at the SmackDown Special, he chose to strike. After knocking Undertaker out with a tire iron, Orton drove the Deadman through the stage and into a bank of electrical equipment. The impact sparked another blaze, and it appeared that once again, Undertaker was burned alive.

Alas, after Randy Ortons match on the Dec. 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Undertakers familiar gong sounded, and the Deadmans voice spoke to Orton. After scaring the Legend Killer with mind games, Undertaker announced that he and Orton were going straight to hell Hell in a Cell. The match was made official by Theodore Long, and the two will square off inside the steel on Dec. 18. Who will survive, and what does destiny have in store for these two men? Find out at Armageddon.

Also at Armageddon, the rivalry between SmackDown and RAW will continue, as World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Rey Mysterio will team up to face RAW's World Tag Team Champions, Big Show & Kane. At Taboo Tuesday, SmackDown defeated RAW twice when Mysterio & Matt Hardy defeated Snitsky & Chris Masters and Batista won his Street Fight with The Coach. In the weeks leading up to Survivor Series, Big Show & Kane chokeslammed Batista through a car windshield and an announce table, further injuring The Animal's back and shoulder. However, at Survivor Series, Batista, Mysterio and Team SmackDown defeated Team RAW.

Two night later, Rey & Show squared off on the SmackDown Special, and Kane interfered to help his partner when Rey seemed to have the match won. Mysterio enlisted JBL as his partner that week on SmackDown, but after JBL walked out, the RAW monsters easily defeated the weakened Rey. As they continued their attack after the bell, Batista ran out to make the save, chasing off the World Tag Team Champions with a chair. Immediately afterwards, the match was made for Armageddon. Will Batista & Mysterio be able to keep SmackDown's momentum, or will the World Tag Team Champions finally win one for RAW?

Plus, MNM will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against Super Crazy & Psicosis of the Mexicools. On the Dec. 2 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the Mexicools outlasted five other teams to win a Tag Team Battle Royal, earning them the opportunity. Can Super Crazy & Psicosis add more gold to the Mexicools camp, or will MNM retain their Championship?

Dont miss Armageddon, live on pay-per-view Sunday, Dec. 18 from Providence, Rhode Island. Stay tuned to WWE.com as more matches are announced and more updates are made on the final WWE pay-per-view event of 2005.

Team SmackDown def. Team RAW in a Classic Survivor Series Match
November 28, 2005
Two years in a row, Randy Orton was the sole survivor of his Classic Survivor Series team. This year, Randy completed the three-peat, propelling Team SmackDown to victory. However, Ortons celebration was cut short by the return of his arch-nemesis.

After a lengthy feeling out process, Lashley showed why he qualified for Team SmackDown, overpowering Team RAW and using his power to block the Master Lock. After hitting his Dominator on Carlito, Lashley looked to eliminate RAW captain Shawn Michaels with the same move. Instead, Kane reached over the ropes, grabbing Lashleys throat and delivering a thunderous chokeslam. HBK then pinned Lashley for the first elimination.

Rey Mysterio tried his hand, but Team RAW used their size to overpower him. Rey managed a tag to World Heavyweight Champion Batista, but after the Animal took Kane down, he baited the rest of Team RAW to try their hand. This allowed Mysterio to sneak in and hit the 619 on a fallen Kane, and Batista easily covered the Big Red Monster to even the sides at four. Big Show then immediately came in and chokeslammed Batista, but SmackDowns team captain escaped the pinfall. Kane, still in the ring, assisted his partner in giving the Animal a double-chokeslam, and that was enough for Show to pin Batista, quickly giving RAW back its one man advantage.

JBL was next in for Team SmackDown, but Big Show overpowered the former WWE Champion. However, he made the fatal mistake of going after Team SmackDown. Randy Orton dropped Show neck-first across the top rope, leaving him easy prey for JBLs Clothesline from Hell. Somehow, Show managed to find a way to get up, prompting a puzzled JBL to tag in Mysterio. He delivered a 619, but Show kept fighting. Randy Orton tried the RKO, but that still wouldnt keep the World Tag Team Champion down. After another Clothesline From Hell, Mysterio hit a seated senton splash, and that was finally enough. Rey got the three count, and the sides were even once more.

Shows elimination sparked a pier-six brawl, and JBL took HBK out of the equation with a fallaway slam on the floor. This effectively left RAW down 3-on-2, but the RAW duo of Carlito and Chris Masters managed to isolate Mysterio to keep the advantage. The numbers game would prove too much, however. As Carlito set up Rey for his modified swinging neckbreaker, JBL made a blind tag on Mysterio. With Carlito in perfect position, JBL nailed him with a Clothesline From Hell, getting the three count to give Team SmackDown its first official numbers advantage of the match. Masters fought the three remaining SmackDown team members valiantly, but with HBK still hurt on the floor, The Masterpiece fell victim to the 619. Rey then Dropped the Dime to eliminate Masters, leaving an injured HBK alone against three.

Even down three against one, HBK showed the resilience that has made him one of the greatest Superstars in WWE history. After feeling the 619, Michaels managed to hit Sweet Chin Music on Mysterio as he attempted the West Coast Pop, and HBK quickly pinned Rey. JBL tried to capitalize quickly, but HBK ducked the Clothesline from Hell, gave JBL a little Sweet Chin Music of his own, and scored another pinfall, leaving HBK one-on-one with Randy Orton.

Randy tried to hit a quick RKO, but Michaels escaped. Orton managed to control the tiring HBK, but Michaels found a way to keep fighting. HBK hit his patented flying elbow, and tuned up the band for another try at Sweet Chin Music. However, JBL was still at ringside, and he grabbed a chair and entered the ring. He swung and missed at HBK, JBL heard the music one more time. This momentary distraction gave Orton enough time to recover, and as HBK turned around, the Legend Killer delivered an RKO. This finally took the fight out of Michaels, and three seconds later, Orton was once again the sole Survivor.

As the SmackDown roster rushed out to celebrate the victory, the familiar gong of the Undertaker was heard. Druids wheeled out a casket as Orton stood in disbelief in the ring. With the casket turned upright, a lightning bolt flew from the sky, igniting the coffin in flames. As Orton continued to watch in horror, Undertaker kicked down the coffins door, returning for the first time since Orton seemingly vanquished him at No Mercy.

Undertaker strode to the ring to a huge ovation, and the SmackDown locker room tried to run interference as Orton bailed from the ring. The Deadman delivered a series of chokeslams to the SmackDown Superstars, and then gave William Regal a Tombstone as Orton watched from the aisle. In the end, Undertaker he was left alone in the ring, and the legend and the Legend Killer stared down as Survivor Series came to a close.
